Rail Vehicle Simulator "MaSzyna"

The program allows users to take on the role of a train driver of the most popular rail vehicles present on the Polish railway network. Users can control dozens of models of electric and diesel locomotives, several electric multiple units. Also available are trolleys and railbuses, with the vehicle database containing hundreds of passenger and freight wagons. Additionally, the collection includes models controlled solely by the computer.

The latest release of MaSzyna features over 150 scenarios designed for several available sceneries, including three realistic ones (railway lines 61 and 144, Ozimek - Częstochowa segment; line 107, Nowy Zagórz - Łupków segment; the siding from Raciąż station to the sugar refinery in Glinojeck). The sceneries represent various types of railway lines found in Poland. MaSzyna offers the opportunity to drive on main lines at speeds of 120-160 km/h or atmospheric local railway routes. There are also "shunting" scenarios where the user's task is to operate a marshalling yard or a siding in an industrial plant. The program also simulates variable weather conditions such as rain, snow, or fog.

Recommended System Requirements:

  • Processor: Intel Core i5-7600 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 or AMD Radeon RX 580
  • 75 GB of free disk space
  • Sound card supporting OpenAL with stereo
  • Optional COM ports for custom control panel setups.

System and software requirements for running the simulator have increased compared to previous versions. Due to the exe file being split into x86 and x64 versions, attention must be paid to the compatibility of the libraries below with your operating system and the used EXE file.

In some cases, it may be necessary to install the Python 2.7.14 basic package in the system, especially on x64 systems.

It is recommended to have more than 8 GB of RAM and a multi-threaded processor. A small amount of memory may prevent larger sceneries from running without reducing texture size (maxtexturesize in the eu07.ini file), and the lack of a free processor thread may drastically reduce performance in locomotives with an onboard computer.
