Hello.

In Hungary many people interesting and tried the new L053 Cargo 2261 scenario, and they are really like it.
Unfortunately, don't understand the orders, or correct car sequence. I translate and try read the document from INNE, but I don't understand too, what need to do with the car groups.

I'm from Hungary, and our railways on main lines use gray basalt (over time, it becomes usually brown-red due to brake shoes dust).
I think, fully same, like on Polish railways.

It looks like wonderful.
My old idea, along with this replacing old rail models. Leaving edges rounding poly count is equal, like older, and give edge for rail sole, avoiding the z-playing with the ballast on greater distance. Perhaps possibly give LoD, for example last submodel be, as a simple trapeze.
This is a simple profile a standard UIC60 rail. True, that's height smaller, than original/currently used.

Hello.

I saw the render images from "Bonanza" coaches on the Polish Forum: brake equipments under chassis, new bogie. Those beautiful, and very detailed.
And I feel, much more detailed than the previous trend. So, my question: this will be the future of the Simulator detail norm?
Unfortunately, I don't know, what's the plans, goals in detailing for the distant future of the Simulator.

I think, I feel, I stuck ten years ago in the level of detail.:-)

Is there perhaps a polygon-general norm in different vehicles?
For example:
Locos: 100.000 triangles;
cars: 30.000;
coaches: 30.000-35.000? Or ~50 000 is okay?

He wants to operate a traction motor voltage indicator from PIN20, PWM3,; and a tachometer indicator from PIN21, PWM2.
And to his questions, that's possible?

Hello!
I am pleased to announce, the "old trio" reunited! Mrcell, and Tade back to Maszyna. We'd like Our future work it could be part of the official Maszyna releases. The old and sank maszyna.mrtcsapat.hu remains with accindentally visitors.

I would like to ask permission to use, and translate the Maszyna standards, because our, and others works, as much as possible to meet the requirements.

That good, I'm happy, much prefer this method, same was in Trainz 2004. This method is much much better, than distance LOD.
No problem, translator help me, around half explanation understandable.
So: screen height to 768, multisampling off.

Witam.

I found an oddity in LOD operation.
Exported a second level model only, add distances: min.: 50, max.: 200. But it visible around after 80m (I calculated from visible coal freights), +a locomotive length.
Highest model added 0-20 (meter?), that visible more than 30m, maybe 40 too. Interesting. Is that perhabs somewhat automatically?

And an interesting. I tested the engine tolerance. On 12 tracks 2400 car (over 200 pieces in one train the program crashed).
With LOD versions from 60FPS can hold between 58-48.
Thereafter started the scene without LOD models, ~13 000 triangles with couplers, pneumatics, etc. Circa 13 drawcall/car.
At 99% GPU loading draw 8FPS, few seconds after began operating the visibility reduction, and make 19-20FPS.
So, it's amazing, on the screen was more than 24 million triangles, and minimum 7 000, perhabs more than 31 000 drawcalls (a few seconds). The engine can be CPU cores and GPU too able to take full advantage.

Witam!

Uploaded a pack for EU07, type 4E-s sound modification.
It is currently in the testing phase, so I need suggestions, criticisms. Specially: volume ratios, (converter, hasler, runningnoise), and tone reality ("too sharp" or too "soft") hasler, traction motor sounds, because never heard the sound of an IRL EU07.

Witam!

I have a question for developers.
LoD theme.
What is better for the program engine?
3 nodes (submodels)+1 texture - 3 drawcalls, wich first node: body high (till 120-150m), second: chassis high (80-100m), third: small elements (40-50m).
Or: submodel high (about 120-180m - but 1 drawcall), and after that a completely new "mid" submodel.

Yes, yes, but now listen on high volume the sample, and make click every 12 sec. And it's funny, because, the reversed sample's _half length_ longer, than 23sec.
And in editor it's inaudible.
I don't understand.
Try make this something.

Many-many thanks, that was my fault, a few days ago I switched through the dither to enabled! Now correct, thank You!

You hear click, when playing mid sample as continued? Or in start-mid transition?
Unfortunately, from start to mid transition correct usually from 7 to 2 times in simulator. In sound editor, transition was faultless, countless test occasion.
My theory, maybe the problem, simulator's sound engine "memorize", where "stopped" was a sample. And in recall, the sample continued from this memorized point, never from the beginning of the sample. Of course, this is just a theory, be my fault too.
I try to work better and better.

This technique very interesting, and a good one! Already made some attempt.

However, many case frequent problem, sample is too short to repeat, like too long. Principally than cog wheel gear/traction motor noise. Often the usable session less than 3-4 sec.

First theme.

Editing sounds.

I observed, in the Maszyna's recurrected sound samples take place in one direction (example: converters, electric motor noises, runningnoises, etc.).
I have a trick: copy the full "mid" sample, and paste behind. Make a reversal on the second sample, then merge the two sample. Many sample sound the same backwards as forward (except for example: a Hasler sample).
This technic's second benefit, a really short sample too will double in length.
I've created an example.
Type 303E-s "przetw3" mid sample was a deeper tone noise at the joint/replay point.
I remerged the start/mid samples, from mid delete around the fist 2 seconds (where was the deep tone error), reversed it, and start-mid samples I cut, that the splice point should be on 0 dB (so there is no popping noise).

Tried filtering a white noise/crepitation from the end sample, unavailingly... So, just use a short fade out, and after deleted the end crepitation.

Here are the re-edited example samples, try it, enjoy!



Accidentally, sample of "start" exported on 44kHz. Audacity add a terrible white noise to any unsigned 8bit exported sample, therefore should resampling from 16bit to 8 bit in Goldwave. And a little bit that stuff strange for me.

I'm so sorry! Here is the 22kHz reduced sample.

Thank You very much for the explanation, and links too! I read them all.
It was incomprehensible to me, why not called these concepts, as like efficiency or loss. But already understand, because reactive power not loss, only unappropriated power/energy.

Yet not 100% "clear", I think, a 2-3 times to be read those articles, are written in my language too.

Would like to ask, could You tell me from starting resistance engines? I couldn't find anything in details.
I would be interested, how switch off the resistors from the engine's traction circuit? For example at EU07, and example at "Bobina"?
I watched a film from a Bobina, there was a rotating device to the resistors/notches in the machine room (this similar, like a transformer tap-notch AC/DC locomotive). At EU07 (and their relatives) than i saw,  relays, or contactors connected to resistors, and getting out them from the circuit, really fast. I guess (found a schematically illustration from Siódemka), have not separately resistors to all notch, so, combined them to higher (lower resistivity) notches, maybe other situations. On diagram, was about 30 resistors, but not all by traction/notches, bybasses (fields).

Tomorrow I will open a new thread, for my developments, questions from IRL Polish railway, suggestions, ideas (examp.: sample editing tricks) and many other.

I use a trick for "moving" signal plate. Plate's gizmo ~4m distance on Y axle from the stand. And the plate turn an indiscernible 1 degree left/right.


So, it's a very difficult thing, and there are many reasons.
Each Maszyna theme forum/topic in Hungary is sunk. Other railway sim themes be dying too.
I'm alone. I have n't textures, have n't photos for textures, and have n't technical help from the IRL railways for tests/realism (I'm not locomotive driver IRL). Railroad workers/engineers thought, all virtuality is a simple "game", a folly, not serious.
The state railway, MÁV made a difficult, unintelligible, expensive photographic regulation (accident prevention education, personal card). If it's have, on the site (examp.: a station), dispatcher or railway guard could deny the photographing.
New laws of photographing any public place maybe impossible (I have to ask every person, authorized to shoot, if they are included the picture, rework/retouching does n't matter).

And nobody want to work, maybe, Maszyna's world too difficult them.
So, for me not important, that locomotive I drive, is a PKP machine, or other railway machine. For me important the realism, the feeling. In these things Maszyna is the absolutely best (I'm tested airbrake realism in recent weeks - from result be later, so shortly: madness!).
And I view some movie on board Siódemka, and these inspired me. In my opinion, this is a fantastic engine, and have really nice noises. The resistor fan's howl, the nice, high pitch transmission (traction motor) sound, the relays clatter, the interest, quick managment of handles (main wheel, field handle). Durable, and strong (22,5% remaining field).

Eeer, I'm read Your post again.
I can send to You the switches, but they are totally different geometry, like the current Polish switches. Exactly 6,14 degrees, length 33,1962m - for this, the max script need editing.
Unfortunately, they have not texture on ballast.

Oh, and 25kV. Yes I saw, and after a little fiz manipulating, a loco was able to run.
The biggest problem, I cannot understand for the AC system, some physical phenomenon(?) incomprehensible for me. Power factor (H: teljesítménytényező) - cos-fi (?), reactive power (meddő teljesítmény).

Hello!

I made a lot of investigation, so founded the problem.
Any subtitle appear only debug mode, or when show status indicator (F2), time, or any other text on screen (F8, F12). And during a scenario, I never use them (at most a moment), drive by cab instruments only.
A few months earlier it worked differently.

Thank You for the inspiration, this is a good idea, I'll do the translation of the main page.

Eeer... I continued the subtitles translation, based on Lelek's English  (and Czech too) txt-s.
Certainly, the simple copy-paste-rename method did'nt work.
Need to editing in an MPL2 application (I try one, could n't started on Win7/64)?

The older translations works correctly on version 10.14.

Witam, welcome, dear friends of Maszyna!

Some things happened, some things are changed.

First: I leave abosolutely alone, so, H-Maszyna team no longer exist.
But I have developments, and I would by my suggestions on a new, own topic, if its no problem.

Second: already not like Hungarian railways. In the past few months I fell in love to Polish railways, the 3000V DC system, and especially to the EU07 locomotive.

I have two Polish development, one is sound upgrade/re-edit for EU07s. Maybe 1-2 day need for last tests.
But I have a question: the relay/contactor(?) samples, if when the main wheel reach notch 28, serial; and leave 29/back to notch 28, can be found in the "sounds" directory? Or these effects are in the code only? For me really miss the typical triple-click relay sound at reach full serial.:-)

A little Hungarian railway in the world of Maszyna.

All object low poly and they are use only one(!!!) 1024x1024 dds bitmap (for less drawcall)!

Ca. 50% hand maded texture at this time.

Mrcell thanks, now come back to me my all older developmental. I work again, because of the program's new features really caught me - arc/curve resistance, electric power system, SPKS braking system, Hasler-Teloc indicator's more realistic operation (very real that ca. 1-2 sec updating the speed information, indicator's bouncing/hop).

Many another project in my hand (mostly oldes), examp.: MAV Es, Eas (orginal three doors version) series freight cars, they are uses cpneumatic/coupler system; KE-GP control valve.

Currently, i work hard finalizing the Eas serie car. Track switches project currently resting due problems of scenery/track editing.

Hi.

I made these switch stands.
It have own .inc files, line geometry and the ballast follow the standard parameters of hungarian switches (300m, 1:9, 6,14 degree- and half-ready the 200m curve type, and others), so, it is a completely independent scenery element.


But, more than a year did'nt develop for the simulator. All development missed on my actual hard disk.

But.

Recents months i try make some features again, e.g. new t.c. engine sound, ventilator sound for EU07 locomotive, new Hasler-Teloc sound, runningnoises, etc. etc.


The new traction power system is fantastic! On Krzyzowa 2, use all engine type ET22, with 1500-2000 tons coal trains, during accelerate, the electric power source station was "declutched" due overload.:)

The new feature, curve resistance also absolutely realistic, very good feature. Uphill 0,8% gradient (own test-track), 2000 tons train, come 400m curve, and engine even harder struggle... :)

New asynchron traction attracted my attention.
